In Belgium, the mass production of hemp bread will be launched
Charlie Lowy, the owner of Lowy’s Belgian bakeries, plans to launch mass production of hemp bread under the Cannabread brand. The product will begin to be sold in Belgian supermarkets in November 2019.
Hemp bread is good for your health
Lowy said the dough used to make Cannabread is 15% hemp seed. The bread will contain a small amount of THC, so the product can be sold in Belgium without restrictions. Charlie received an organic certificate for hemp bread. According to the businessman, the product is good for health because it contains minerals, Vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, fiber, carotene, and magnesium. Previously, several Dutch bakeries periodically produced cannabis baked goods, however, Cannabread will be the first European hemp bread to be produced on stream.
Cannabread retains the smell and taste of hemp
In 2018, employees of the Belgian Federal Food Safety Agency confiscated and destroyed Lowy’s hemp bread, as the entrepreneur did not have a certificate confirming that the product does not have a psychoactive effect. Officials have doubts about the legality of the products because Cannabread smelled of cannabis. Subsequently, the baker received all the necessary documents for the production and trade of hemp products.
Dietary Hemp Bread Recipe
The Original Weed Recipes portal has published a dietary hemp bread recipe (without added butter and sugar) for people who use cannabinoids for medical or recreational purposes. To prepare the product you will need the following ingredients:
- 5 grams of marijuana, peeled from seeds and stems;
- three cups of wheat flour;
- oat or flax flour (for powder);
- one and 1/4 teaspoon of salt;
- 5. 1/4 teaspoon of dry yeast;
- 6. one and 3/4 cups of warm water.
- 1. chopper for marijuana;
- 2. baking dish;
- 3. foil;
- 4. oven.
First, grind the cannabis inflorescences to a uniform consistency, put the mixture in a pot, cover with foil on top and place in the oven for one hour at a temperature of 104 ℃. This operation should be performed if you have not decarboxylated hemp.
In the second stage, pour flour, salt, yeast, and marijuana into a bowl, then add water, mix thoroughly, cover with a lid and place the bowl in a warm place (24-26 ℃) for 12 hours. After that, remove the dough from the dishes, put it on a flat surface, sprinkled with flour (so as not to stick), and roll the ball. Sprinkle a little oatmeal or linseed flour on top and bottom of the bowl, wrap it with a cotton cloth and put it in a warm place for another two hours.
Preheat the oven to 232 ℃, place the dough in a mold, cover and place it in the oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake for 5-10 minutes. Next, you need to remove the bread from the oven, wait a couple of hours and you can eat.
